
“Through the Trails of Memory” is the theme of the 1st Santa Bárbara de Neve Hiking Festival
From the 7th to the 9th of February, the parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe, in the interior of the Municipality of Faro, hosts the first hiking festival, held in this unique territory of the Algarve barrocal. Walks for all tastes, workshops and workshops, health and well-being activities and an interesting cultural program dedicated to local heritage and identity are the attractions of the Algarve Walking Season network's most recent festival.

A breath of freedom during the 3-day Walk & Art Fest
From 1 to 3 November, 950 people of 30 different nationalities came to Barão de São João, in the municipality of Lagos, to take part in the numerous activities on programme, including walks, themed tours, mountain bike rides, workshops, activities for children, wellness sessions, cooking, poetry, concerts and, of course, the art installation, which once again brightened up the village.

Walking Festivals: What's Changed In The Algarve?
The Barão de São João - Walk & Art Fest 7th edition begins with a conference that invites reflection on the role of walking festivals in the region, seeking to answer the question: What has changed in the Algarve with walking festivals? includes the participation of all festivals in the Algarve Walking Season network, as well as the Algarve Tourism Region.

Walking in the Algarve, a long journey
The Algarve's hiking festivals are the result of a long journey, travelled over the last few decades, with different protagonists, to reveal a different Algarve and draw attention to its natural and cultural wealth. They have also opened up a path to building a more cohesive, sustainable, harmonious and economically competitive region.

Once again, we filled Ameixial with hundreds of walkers
Around 350 people, of different nationalities, took part in more than 900 different activities and generated a direct impact of around €10,000 on the local economy. These are some of the main results of the 11th edition of the Ameixial Walking Festival, figures that fill us with satisfaction.
