Walking Festivals: What's Changed In The Algarve?

The Barão de São João - Walk & Art Fest 7th edition begins with a conference that invites reflection on the role of walking festivals in the region, seeking to answer the question: What has changed in the Algarve with walking festivals? includes the participation of all festivals in the Algarve Walking Season network, as well as the Algarve Tourism Region.

The moment in which the Algarve Walking Season network welcomes a new festival, the WFSBN - Festival de Caminhadas de Santa Bárbara de Nexe, is the pretext to carry out this reflection on the role of hiking festivals in the Algarve, their impact on the territory, the inherent challenges and what changes they have brought about in the region.

This is the proposal for the Barão de São João - Walk & Art Fest 7th edition. The conference takes place on the morning of the first day of the festival and brings together the network's 5 current partners for a presentation of their festivals. A Round Table will follow with the participation of other entities, including the Algarve Tourism Region and also the Cooperativa QRER, the entity promoting the 1st Algarve walking festival (WFA) and coordinator of the Algarve Walking Season.

This will be the first time that the new WFSBN festival - Festival de Caminhadas de Santa Bárbara de Nexe, with the first edition in February 2025, will be presented in public.

Participation in this conference is free and open to all interested parties, upon registration and subject to room capacity.
